Organised by the Council's Sport Reading Development Team, youngsters aged 8-15 can get involved in all manner of dance and gymnastic experiences.
The festival takes place on Sunday, October 18th at Meadway Sport Centre, Conwy Road, Tilehurst.
Activity sessions throughout the day include a trampette challenge, which challenges young participants to jump the furthest and highest, street cheer – an exciting fusion of street dance and cheerleading that incorporates jumps, dance, cheers and chants within a routine to music.
There is also freestyle vaulting, which adopts Parkour, free running, urban gymnastics and martial arts principles. Other stations include, trampolining and floor work which will cover the basics of any gymnastic activity.
Graeme Hoskin, Lead Councillor for Culture and Sport, said: "I know these sessions are going to be a great success as they will be a lot of fun, and great value. As a council we're working hard to promote exercise and sport for all, particularly young people, and this event is part of that."
Session 1 is for children aged 8-11 and takes place from 2.20pm-4.30pm, registration from 2pm. Session 2 is for youngsters aged 12-15, taking place from 5pm-7pm, registration at 4.30pm.
The cost is £5 per person for a session, £4.50 with a Your Reading Passport and £3 with a concessionary Your Reading Passport.
It is essential young people book their place to attend the festival and complete a consent form. Places are limited and will be first come, first served.
