The special event will bring together groups of people of all ages and abilities and will take place at Meadway Sports Centre on Thursday, December 3rd, from 10.30am-2.30pm.
The celebration will begin with a dance show that marks the end of the Sport Unlimited season. Sport Unlimited is a programme aiming to get young people engaged and then retain their interest in sport and physical activity following an 8-week sports course put on by the Council's Sport Reading Development Team.
And after lunch, tai chi, street dance and other workshops will be provided for adults with learning and physical disabilities under the Sport Reading Development Team's Everybody Active programme.
There will also be information stands and an interactive workshop focusing on volunteering, the potential barriers disabled people may experience and ways to progress opportunities.
Councillor Graeme Hoskin, chairman of Reading's 2012 Partnership Board, said: "It's so important to make sport and exercise available and attractive to all. 'Everybody Active' programme is doing great work with disabled residents to provide the sports opportunities and events that they want and I'm sure that the countdown to the 2012 London Paralympics will just add to the excitement."
Everybody Active is a sport and physical activity programme for people with various disabilities.
There are weekly sessions and one off events throughout the year. Tai-Chi and street dance will be available for people to try and a health check stand will be there for people to have blood pressure, weight and height measurements taken.
