The new Reading Walks 'Walking for Health' leaflet is a useful guide to all the current led walks available in Reading which has been put together by the Council's Sport Reading Development Team with contributions from Age Concern Berkshire and NHS Berkshire West.
The health walks are completely free to join, are 1-3 miles long and usually last around 30 minutes to an hour, all abilities are welcome.
The walks take place in green spaces and parks throughout Reading and are a great way to discover your local community, meet new people and improve your health.
Benefits of regular walking include weight control, lowering blood pressure and reducing your risk of heart disease, strokes and diabetes.
All of the walks are led by trained volunteer walk leaders.
Call Kayleigh Hodges, physical activity officer, on (0118) 9015054 for a copy of the brochure.
The Reading Walks 'Walking for Health' leaflet is also available from community centres and libraries throughout Reading.
